PLC naming

Series identification: such as "S7-1200", "S7-300", the larger the number, the stronger the performance.

Function prefixes: such as "CPU" and "ET200", which respectively represent processors or distributed I/O.

Performance suffix: For example, in "S7-1516-3 PN/DP", "1516" indicates computing power and "PN/DP" indicates the type of communication interface.

Module naming

Prefix: For example, "6ES7" indicates the S7 series products.

Intermediate coding:

The first digit: serial number (2=S7-200, 3=S7-300, etc.).

The second digit: Module type (1=CPU, 2 = digital quantity, 3 = analog quantity).

Last digit: Input/output direction (1 = input, 2 = output).

Function suffixes: For example, "BA01" indicates transistor output, and "BC01" indicates relay output.

Example

CPU: 6ES7 1516-3 PN/DP (High-performance CPU of S7-1500 series).

I/O module: 6ES7 321-1BL00-0AA0 (16-point digital input for S7-300 series).

Power supply: 6EP1 332-1SH71 (SITOP series 24V DC power supply).

The product type, applicable series and core parameters can be quickly identified through naming rules, which is convenient for selection and configuration.
